  1. Thigh high socks

As the name suggests, thigh-high socks or over-the-knee socks sit above the knees or go over the knees. These types of socks are perfect for women and look perfect when paired with short skirts. You can also select matching or printed socks that go with your outfit.

The best example of over-the-knee socks is Scottish men and women, who used to wear them with skirts as a uniform. 

  1. Knee-high socks

Knee-high socks are generally worn just below your knees. Athletes and people with diabetes often wear such types of socks to add support. Knee-high socks are known to improve blood circulation in the legs and prevent blood from gathering. 

Knee-high socks have low profile seams, moisture-wicking abilities, extra padding, and more such features. Knee-high socks are suitable for both men and women, diabetic patients, runners, athletes, people with DVT, and peripheral edema. 

  1. Over the calf socks

Women can wear over-the-calf socks to add some excitement to their outfits and stand apart. These socks are called over-the-calf socks because they cover up the calf muscles and sit a bit below your knee. 

Calf socks pair perfectly with skirts and dresses and really goes with formal attire. Moreover, athletes wear over-the-calf socks a lot in the sports industry as a type of protection to their feet and calf. 

If you love running or jogging or high-intensity physical activities, over-the-calf socks are the perfect choice for you.

  1. Mid-calf socks

Alike over the calf socks, mid-calf socks do cover up your calf muscles but not entirely. Generally, mid-calf socks are made of wool as their main purpose is to keep your feet warm during cold weather conditions. 

Apart from wool, mid-calf socks are even available in different fabrics like net and sheer for women.

  1. Crew socks

The most common and popular type of socks is crew socks. Crew socks are perfect when exercising at the gym and can be worn during winters as well. Crew socks offer a tight fit because they are generally ribbed at the cuff. 

Crew socks are 6-8 inches in length, and the ribbed design really helps them stay fit in place. Some popular diabetic socks are even available in the crew size. Which in general look and feel like normal socks, but they offer extra comfort that diabetic people need.

  1. Quarter socks

Quarter socks sit on the shins and extend a bit above the ankles. Such types of socks will prevent blisters from happening, especially in the area where your Achilles contacts your shoes.

If you are diabetic with foot issues like nerve damage, cold feet, and poor circulation, you can get quarter socks for diabetes. Additionally, quarter socks are available with extra cushioning to help protect your feet.

  1. Ankle socks

As the name describes, ankle socks sit on your ankles. Ankle socks are also known as low-cut socks as they pair well with low-cut shoes like sneakers. Ankle socks are even shorter than quarter socks, making them a great option for all sorts of low-top shoes. 

  1. No show socks

No-show socks are perfect; if you have a pair to wear with loafers or ballerinas. This type of socks just adds a thin layer of protection and saves your feet from bad odor. Such socks are perfect for someone who likes to wear them to protect the feet from shoe bites or blisters and at the same time don’t want to display them.
